Glenn Steele B.Pharm. MPS
Owner and Manager of the Gerringong Pharmacy.
I graduated from Sydney University in 1985. I spent 5 years in North Queensland working in Airlie Beach, Mount Isa and Marybourough.
I moved to Gerringong in 1991. In 2000 I purchased the pharmacy from my partner.
I have been a committee member of the Illawarra Pharmacist Association since about 2003. I am a member of the Pharmacy Guild and the PSA. I am also accredited for medication reviews.
Glenn believes that if you are not happy with the way the world is, you better forget about blaming others, get off your butt and do something about it. Along with that, “Many hands makes light work”. The more people who want to contribute to this organization, the easier it is for everyone and the greater our achievements.

Bismillah Aly B.Pharm – Vice-President
After graduating from Sydney Uni in 1995, Bis worked in Sydney and The Southern Highlands before going into business at Balgownie Pharmacy in 1997.
Whilst infrequently donning the “white coat” Bis maintains a keen interest in pharmacy management, the industry and its political landscape. Bis feels pharmacists must stay abreast of the issues and be part of the policy debate to ensure the future success and viability of the profession.

David North. B.Pharm. M.Pharm. (Clin) MPS Secretary
Community pharmacist and presently Secretary of the IPA.
Special interests include rural pharmacy and providing locums in rural NSW. Also can't resist a locum around the Illawarra, Shoalhaven, Sapphire Coast and Far South Coast. I have been involved in pharmacy in the Illawarra for over 30 years, 5 years as a manager, over 20 years as an owner and the last 5 years as a locum pharmacist.
Community involvement includes director on the Illawarra Basketball Association board, a board member of the Illawarra Sports Stadium, a member of Wollongong Council Sports Facility Reference Group, in Scouting as Regional Commissioner for Development for the South Coast and Tablelands and a member of the Australian Scout Training team.
My interest in motor vehicles extends to Ford Capri's and am presently the vice president of the Capri Car Club of NSW.
Proudly I boast two sons and daughters-in-law and two granddaughters with a third grandchild due in July.
I strongly feel the Illawarra should be represented at State and Federal levels in the PSA, Pharmacy Guild and Pharmaceutical Benefits.
I am pleased to be a part of the Illawarra Pharmacists Association and encourage all pharmacists in the Illawarra to also to become involved.

Tim Hewitt. B.Pharm. MPS - (HMR accredited)
A graduate of Sydney University in 1981, Tim landed in the Illawarra in about 1986. After working as a locum in the area he operated two pharmacies in Dapto in partnership for about 12 years. Since 2000, Tim has owned and managed his pharmacy in Albion Park, and for two years in Kiama Downs.
Tim’s political awakening and involvement in IPA activities and ‘pharmacy politics’ generally began during the era of the Hawke Government attacks on the Pharmacists and the PBS in the late 1980’s.
Tim believes that every pharmacist must be aware of the political environment in which the profession works, and must understand the processes of government and bureaucracy which for better or worse, can have enormous impact on the future of the pharmacy profession.
